Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Chevening Alumni Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. handles personal data for the public website and member platform.

Last updated: June 20, 2026

Personal data we collect

CAFPI collects information needed to verify alumni membership, maintain member profiles, operate the alumni directory, deliver member communications, and respond to inquiries. This may include your name, email address, Chevening cohort details, education history, professional information, location, profile photo, contact preferences, account status, and messages you send through the platform.

Public contact forms and data subject request emails may include the contact details and request information you choose to provide.

How we use your data

We use personal data to verify membership eligibility, provide access to member-only features, maintain accurate alumni records, support member-to-member contact where you have enabled it, send CAFPI announcements, protect the platform, and meet legal or governance obligations.

CAFPI does not sell member personal data. Public directory listings only show information from approved members who have opted into public visibility.

Visibility and sharing

Approved members can control selected profile visibility settings in their account. Some information may remain visible to officers or admins where needed for membership administration, security, approvals, exports, and support.

CAFPI may use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, content management, analytics, and operational support. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service.

Security and retention

CAFPI uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for membership administration, platform operations, legal compliance, dispute handling, and legitimate association records. Members may request correction, access, deactivation, deletion review, or consent withdrawal.

Your rights and requests

You may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, a copy of your data, deactivation, deletion review, or withdrawal of consent by using the Data Subject Request page or emailing cheveningalumniassociationphil@gmail.com.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, audit, or legitimate organizational purposes.
